Nation Broadcasting hits new audience highs, adding over two million hours in a single quarter
Nation Broadcasting has achieved record listening numbers in the latest audience survey (RAJAR Q3 2026).
Nation hit a new high of 9.327 million weekly listening hours, an increase of nearly 30% on Q2 2026, with its weekly reach growing by nearly half a million to 1.75 million listeners.
Nation's Founder Jason Bryant said: “After a period of significant investment, Nation has enjoyed rapid progress, powering from under 6 million weekly listening hours at the start of 2025 to more than 9.3 million today.”
Nation's numbers were driven by a strong performance from its UK-wide decade services Nation 80s and Nation 90s, and some notable improvements at its local and regional stations.
Nation 80s hit a new record weekly listening hours total of 881,000, a rise of 11% on the previous quarter. Nation 90s also stormed ahead with its best ever hours of 546,000, almost double the previous quarter.
Within its regional portfolio, Nation saw record weekly reach numbers at Nation Radio South (225,000), Nation Radio Wales (204,000), Nation Radio Scotland (154,000) and Nation Radio North East (120,000).
Nation Easy Radio also enjoyed a strong quarter, with its best ever total weekly listening hours of 477,000.
Nation's local services also performed well. Radio Exe achieved a new record of 438,000 weekly listening hours, with Swansea Bay Radio, Bridge FM Radio and Radio Pembrokeshire all showing noticeable audience improvements.
Bryant added: “Next year is a landmark one for Nation, as we celebrate 25 years since we launched our first radio station. I'm so proud of what our brilliant teams have achieved across the UK and believe that we are well placed to deliver further growth in 2027.”
